As the Alberta teachers’ strike continues into its third week, the City of Lethbridge is offering a free activity for families.

There will be five free public skating times at the Cavendish Farms Centre arenas this week:

  • Wednesday, October 22: CFC West, Parent/Tot Skate (with sticks) with siblings 12 years and younger, 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. (Ice will be split in half with older kids and sponge pucks.)
  • Wednesday, October 22: CFC East, Public Skate, 1:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 23: CFC East, Family Skate, 10 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
  • Thursday, October 23: CFC West, Parent/Tot Skate (with sticks) with siblings 12 years and younger, 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. (Ice will be split in half with older kids and sponge pucks.)

If the strike persists into next week, the City says it will offer a similar schedule of free skating.
