A Lethbridge Landmark with Local Roots and Global Flavour
If you’ve lived in Lethbridge for a while, you’ve probably driven past the water tower and looked up. Built in 1959, it used to hold nearly two million litres of water and was a proud symbol of a growing city. For decades, it quietly supplied homes, businesses, and schools with clean water until modern infrastructure made it unnecessary.

Today, that same tower has found a second life as one of southern Alberta’s unique dining spots, the Water Tower Grill.
Perched high above the city, the view strikes you the moment you step inside. From the vast prairie horizon to the glow of the city lights below, it’s a scene that makes even lifelong locals stop for a moment to appreciate.
