Results now official for southern Alberta municipal elections

We can now say for sure who the next local elected officials in communities across the region are.

As of noon on Friday, Oct. 24, the results of the 2025 municipal elections have been made official.

Here are the next mayors and councillors in southern Alberta:

Brooks

Mayor:

  • Norm Gerestein – 1,804 votes
  • Joel Goodnough – 1,092 votes

Councillor:

  • Mara Nesbitt – 1,576 votes
  • Chad Falkenberg – 1,261 votes
  • Jackie Johnson – 1,202 votes
  • Anne-Marie Philipsen – 1,166 votes
  • Mohammed Idriss – 1,141 votes
  • Mike Regner – 1,097 votes

Cardston

Mayor:

  • Brad Schlossberger – 671 votes
  • Lon Hall – 490 votes

Councillor:

  • Seth Wagner – 792 votes
