Biweekly green cart collection in Lethbridge begins November 4

The City of Lethbridge is reminding residents to reduce the rollout of their green carts until springtime.

Effective Nov. 4, the city will only be picking up the carts of organic waste on a biweekly basis.

This is being done to help manage higher volumes of yard waste and reduce odours during warmer months.

According to the city, diversion data shows that over 18 million kilograms of organic waste have been diverted from the landfill since the green cart program began in 2023.

Residents can stay up-to-date on their green cart collection days by using the Lethbridge Loop app.
