Lethbridge residents to weigh in on health care access and privatization

Oct 27, 2025 | 12:09 PM

Lethbridge residents have the opportunity to share their experiences and concerns about Alberta’s health care system.

Friends of Medicare, a non-profit organization (NPO) that advocates for public health care, is holding a townhall in Lethbridge on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Emergency physician Dr. Paul Parks will lead the discussion on access, restructuring, and privatization.

The event is set to take place at Southminster United Church, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and the discussion starting at 3 p.m.

The NPO is also visiting other Alberta communities this month, including Medicine Hat (Nov. 4), Fort McMurray (Nov. 18), and Red Deer (Nov. 23).

Friends of Medicare says it is seeking input from Albertans on the province’s current health care system.
