Lethbridge book launch by award-winning Alberta author

Nov 4, 2025 | 1:21 PM

Award winning Alberta author Cariss Halton is visiting Lethbridge Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.

Halton will be visiting Analog Books to launch her debut historical fiction book Revolution Songs, already on the Edmonton best-seller list.

The book tells the history of women on both sides of a miner strike in southern Alberta involving both the Canadian Ku Klux Klan and an illegal Communist union.

The launch is being organized by the Lethbridge Historical Society and City Councilor Belinda Crowson.

“This novel set in the Crowsnest Pass in the 1920s and 1930s tells the harrowing story of trying to survive in that mining community during the political and economic craziness of the Great Depression,” says Crowson.” What I love even more is the book focuses on women and children and how they both influenced, and were influenced by, the world around them. If you like great fiction, politics and local history (and who doesn’t?), check it out.”

The book launch is on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Analog Books from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Halton also has visits planned throughout November to Calgary, Pincher Creek, Fernie, the Crowsnest Pass, and Canmore.
