The UFA Agricultural Community Foundation has announced the recipients of its 2025 Rural Communities Grant program.

Of the five organizations selected to receive a combined $100,000 for capital projects to enrich agricultural communities, three are in Southern Alberta:

Pincher Creek Curling Club – $40,000 towards a new curling facility that will serve generations of curlers and community members.

Fundraising Society of the Rolling Hills School – $10,000 to support construction of an Agricultural Academy Barn, fostering hands-on learning for youth.

Agriculture Charter School Society (Strathmore area) – $10,000 towards building a barn to enhance the school’s agriculture-focused curriculum.

“These grants are more than just financial support, they’re a catalyst for connection,” said Kevin Hoppins, Advisory Board Chair of the UFA Foundation. “As someone deeply rooted in rural Alberta, I’ve seen firsthand how investments in local projects create ripple effects of pride, opportunity and community spirit. We’re proud to support these initiatives and the passionate people who make them happen”.

This is the RC Grant program’s second year running under the newly established UFA Foundation after previously operating under the UFA Rural Communities Foundation.

Officials note that under both foundations, the program has awarded a combined $700,000 to support projects that strengthen the fabric of rural life.
