Pronghorns ready to dive in at Canada West Swimming Championships

The University of Lethbridge is hosting the 2025 Canada West Swimming Championships later this month.

The U of L Pronghorns will be competing against some of the fastest swimmers in western Canada, including Olympians, after the university previously hosted the championships in 2023.

Pronghorns Athletics Director Spencer Pommells says hosting the championships is a big event for the university and the city.

“Lethbridge is recognized nationally for its sneaky good setup,” Pommells said, ina press release. “The Max Bell Aquatic Centre has a unique, close-knit feel that puts fans right on top of the action. When the stands are full, especially during relays, it’s an incredible environment.”

The championships are being organized in partnership with the Lethbridge Amateur Swim Club and is taking place at the Co-op Centre for Sport & Wellness in the Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre at the University Nov. 28-30.
