Wind Warning in effect for Lethbridge and surrounding areas

Nov 10, 2025 | 10:05 AM

A Wind Warning is currently in effect for the City of Lethbridge and many other areas of southern Alberta today.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), westerly wind gusts of 100 km/h to 115 km/h are expected.

Winds are anticipated to weaken this afternoon.

Officials say driving conditions will likely be difficult. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind, so motorists are encouraged to secure loose objects.

With that, crews responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. to an overturned semi trailer on Hwy-2 southbound near Township Road 95A, approximately 5km north of Fort MacLeod.

The incident caused a lane closure and major delays in the area.
