A festive way of collecting donations during the festive season.

Lethbridge Transit has announced that its Holiday Bus will return for a second year.

Operations Manager Joseph Bompiani says it will pick up donations for the Christmas Hope campaign.

“The Holiday Bus was a huge source of brightness and joy last year, so we’re thrilled to bring it back again,” says Bompiani. “This is a great partnership that supports local and brings the community together for the holidays.”

The Holiday bus will stop at five community events.

Christmas Hope is a collaborative effort between seven local non-profits to ensure everyone can have a Merry Christmas.

Volunteers collect donations of food, toys, and cash to distribute to 6,000 children, 3,000 adults, and 250 seniors in need.

“It’s wonderful to have the Holiday Bus supporting Christmas Hope again this year,” says Danielle McIntyre, Executive Director with Interfaith Food Bank and one of seven partners in the Christmas Hope collaboration.

She adds, “To see Lethbridge Transit employees sharing the spirit of the season by decorating and driving this bus to so many local events to collect food and toys for children, and gifts for isolated seniors shows the value they place on the community they serve. The lights, sounds and gifts of the season are what make it so special. We’re lucky to live in a city that embraces thinking of others during the holidays.”
