Input needed on London Road Area Redevelopment Plan in Lethbridge

Nov 19, 2025 | 11:24 AM

The City of Lethbridge is asking for your help in planning the future of the London Road neighbourhood.

It is opening up consultations for the London Road Area Redevelopment Plan (LRARP). It was first created in 2018 and guided planning and development decisions.

The City then adopted its Municipal Development Plan (MDP) in 2021, which serves as Lethbridge’s highest-level land use plan. Because the MDP did not exist when the LRARP was implemented, it has to be updated to:

  • Support a range of housing types and increase density appropriately in existing areas.
  • Encourage small-scale, street-fronting commercial units in appropriate locations.

The LRARP also calls for a five-year review to ensure it still reflects the community’s vision and priorities.

The neighbourhood saw just six new homes added over the last seven years, and the City says the plan may be adjusted to allow for more housing in appropriate locations.

Those who live in London Road, own a property, or run a business, are asked to provide their feedback.

You can view the full LRARP on the City of Lethbridge’s website.

The online survey can be completed online here until December 10.

All final decisions will be made by city council following a public hearing. The date for the hearing will be advertised once it is set.
