10-20 cm of snow expected Monday in southern Alberta

Southern Alberta is currently getting its first substantial snowfall of the season.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for most of southern Alberta on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025.

Areas, including Lethbridge, Coaldale, Taber, Milk River, Fort Macleod, and Grassy Lake, can expect 10 to 15 cm of snow by the end of Monday evening.

The weather forecaster warns that visibility may be reduced to below 500 metres at times.

“Strong northwest winds will develop in the afternoon, further reducing visibility in blowing snow,” reads the alert from Environment Canada.

Communities to the southwest, such as Crowsnest Pass, Waterton Lakes National Park, and Pincher Creek, are likely to get between 10 and 20 cm of snow. The heaviest amounts are forecast in the national park and in areas near the B.C. border.

Environment Canada is asking drivers to be cautious as roadways will likely become slippery.
