Former Canadiens coach Therrien to serve as Canada coach at Spengler Cup
CALGARY — Former Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien will serve as head coach of the Canadian team at the upcoming Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland.
Therrien will be joined at the Dec. 26-31 tournament by assistant coaches Drew Bannister, Rob Cookson and Patrice Lefebvre, Hockey Canada said Thursday.
“We are excited to unveil the coaching staff that is tasked with leading Team Canada at the Spengler Cup with the goal of reclaiming the championship for the first time since 2019,” general manager Marc Bergevin said.
“We believe this is a well-rounded group that will be complemented by a world-class support staff.”
