The Downtown Rotary Club of Lethbridge has launched its 2025–2026 Catch the Ace Lottery.

Officials say all proceeds support the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation’s Bringing Hearts Home Campaign, a $30 million initiative to build a new Cardiac Centre of Excellence for Southern Alberta.

The lottery opens Dec. 15, 2025, with the first draw on Monday, Dec. 22, and weekly draws every Monday thereafter until the Ace is caught or up to 52 weeks. Rotary’s goal is to raise $1 million for the campaign. Tickets can be purchased at www.RaceToAce.ca.

As part of its “More Ways to Win” messaging, officials say the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation will also extend this opportunity to its existing lottery participants, giving supporters yet another meaningful way to improve healthcare in southern Alberta.

Rotary members, local businesses, and community supporters are encouraged to participate. Catch the Ace offers weekly prizes and a growing progressive jackpot.

“Rotary exists to bring people together in service of our community, and Catch the Ace is a perfect example of that mission in action,” says Todd Brown, President, Downtown Rotary, in a press release. “We are proud to launch this lottery in support of the Bringing Hearts Home Campaign, and our goal of raising $1 million reflects the deep commitment our members have to improving healthcare for families across southern Alberta.”

“Catch the Ace is a fun and engaging way for our community to come together and make a meaningful difference,” adds Shilpa Stocker, Catch the Ace Lottery Manager, Downtown Rotary. “Every ticket purchased not only gives players a chance to win great prizes, it directly supports the future of cardiac care in our region. We’re excited to see southern Albertans rally behind this initiative and help bring life-saving care closer to home.”

“Rotary’s commitment to the Bringing Hearts Home Campaign is an incredible example of community leadership,” exclaims Dr. Sayeh Zielke, Chair, Southern Alberta Cardiac Sciences Advisory Cabinet. “Their support accelerates our vision for a Cardiac Centre of Excellence right here in Southern Alberta, ensuring patients can receive advanced, life-saving care closer to home, surrounded by their families and support. We are deeply grateful for their partnership.”

According to organizers, more than 80,000 southern Albertans rely on cardiac services that are stretched, aging, or only available hours away. Funds raised from Catch the Ace are expected to help build a modern, comprehensive Cardiac Centre of Excellence, keeping care close to home, where it matters most.
