Most of the region is under a fog advisory.

Environment Canada issued the advisory on Friday morning, January 2.

They say foggy conditions will improve by this afternoon, but it will return tonight and persist until Saturday afternoon.

There is also a risk of freezing drizzle.

Some of the communities impacted by the fog advisory include Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Coaldale, Taber, Milk River, Brooks, Claresholm, and High River.

The weather forecaster is advising drivers in these areas that visibility will be reduced at times, and that there “may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic.”
