Christmas Hope delivers for 8,800 in Lethbridge area

Thousands of families were able to enjoy a Merry Christmas thanks to a local donation drive.

The Christmas Hope Campaign is once again being heralded as a success.

It provided gifts to more than 8,800 people in Lethbridge and the surrounding area, including nearly 5,300 youths, over 3,500 adults, and 207 seniors.

Although this represents a decrease of 430 compared to 2024, organizers attribute the decline to the realignment of service coverage by Toy Distribution partners and supports now offered in surrounding communities.

Christmas Hope is a collaboration between seven local non-profit organizations: Angel Tree, Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization, Salvation Army, MyCityCare, Volunteer Lethbridge, Interfaith Food Bank, and Lethbridge Food Bank.

Nearly 1,400 volunteers took part in this year’s campaign, putting in over 11,000 hours of service work in December.

“We consider it a privilege to represent our community with services to these families. Help is always needed, and our community responds with thoughtful kindness, sincerity, and generosity,” reads a joint news release from the Christmas Hope partners.

With demand still at “unusually high” levels, all of the service providers say they still need support to continue their missions and services to the community.
