Nominations open for Alberta’s highest honour
Albertans are being encouraged to nominate remarkable community members, leaders and innovators for membership in the Alberta Order of Excellence.
Government officials note, the Order is the province’s highest honour, recognizing individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to their communities and to Alberta. Officials say members include Olympians, scientists, farmers, volunteers, business leaders, educators and artists whose work has helped shape the province.
Since its establishment in 1979, the government says 229 Albertans have been invested into the Alberta Order of Excellence.
Nominations are accepted year-round, but must be received by Feb. 15 to be considered for investiture this year.
