Alberta launches health system dashboard, day after giving update on strained hospitals

Jan 16, 2026 | 3:55 PM

A day after offering an expansive update on the province’s overloaded and strained hospital network, the Government of Alberta is sharing more details about a new health system dashboard it’s launching.

The site will share key metrics and timely information on the system’s performance, they say in a release.

It will be rolled out in phases, starting with surgical data, including comparisons across facilities.

It will soon include primary care indicators, such as provider attachment and cervical cancer screening rates, plus acute care metrics.

Over time, they’ll add data on assisted living, mental health, and addiction.

“Albertans deserve to know how their health care system is performing,” Adriana LaGrange, minister of primary and preventative health services, and MLA for Red Deer-North said Friday.

“This dashboard puts patients first, clearly shows key results and holds the system accountable. It will continue to grow, adding new measures to give Albertans a fuller picture of how care is delivered across the province.”

The dashboard, which will be updated monthly, also includes an interactive map of acute care facilities which perform surgeries.

The dashboard can be viewed here.
