A person from southern Alberta remains behind bars after allegedly sexually assaulting a minor, among other offences.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says, on April 24, 2025, officers were called to a hotel room on the southside to assist in the recovery of property.

Upon entering the unit, officers say they found a man with six children, including one boy and five girls, between the ages of 12 and 14.

The man was later determined to be 21 years old, but reportedly lied to police about his age, claiming to be a teenager.

According to LPS, the man had met the youths on social media.

After driving them to various locations, he allegedly took them to a hotel room, provided them with alcohol, and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl.

LPS had made several attempts to contact the suspect during their investigation and learned that he had reportedly left the country.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued, and on Jan. 19, 2026, he was arrested at the Vancouver International Airport.

Yuvraaz Singh, 22, of Taber, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, inviting sexual touching, and obstructing a peace officer.

Singh is currently remanded in custody in B.C. and awaiting transport back to Alberta.
