Over 100 athletes from Lethbridge area competing in Alberta Winter Games

Southern Alberta will be well-represented at a major provincial competition.

The Alberta Winter Games are set to take place Feb. 13-16, 2026, in the Lakeland Region in northern Alberta.

Susan Eymann, executive director of the Lethbridge Sport Council, says 108 people from Lethbridge and the surrounding communities are set to compete.

“It’s incredibly special to be celebrating the Alberta Winter Games at the same time as the Olympic Winter Games,” says Eymann. “The Alberta Games are an exciting starting point, offering quality competition, exposure to a multisport environment, and friendships that last a lifetime. It’s where young athletes begin to see what’s possible. ”
