Electrical upgrades to force temporary closure of Pincher Creek emergency department

Residents of Pincher Creek are being advised of an upcoming temporary closure of their town’s emergency department.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says electrical upgrades are planned to take place from 6:00 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

During this time, patients experiencing a medical emergency can still phone 911. EMS will remain available and can transfer patients as needed to the hospitals in Cardston, Crowsnest Pass, Fort Macleod, or Lethbridge.

Nursing staff will continue to assist patients in the emergency department.

Other services at the Pincher Creek Health Centre will not be impacted.
