Young Farmer Summit coming to Lethbridge Feb. 25

Young farmers can learn more about how to elevate their business skills.

Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is hosting its Young Farmer Summit at the Lethbridge Trade & Convention Centre on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The group says it is a series of free events across Canada, “Aimed at attracting and engaging the next generation of farmers, as well as food manufacturers and retailers.”

“Participants will get real-world advice from engaging speakers, network with peers and take control of their business journey.”

The event is meant for people under the age of 40 who are either working in the industry or pursuing a career in agriculture through education.

Featured speakers in Lethbridge include: 

Evan Shout, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer, Maverick Ag  

An agriculture business leader and accountant, Evan combines financial expertise with hands-on farm experience to help producers strengthen their business, leadership, and risk-management skills. Dr. Tom Deans

A renowned author and speaker specializing in family wealth transfers, with three influential books including the best-selling Every Family’s Business. His work focuses on helping families manage wealth transitions with transparency and care, emphasizing the role of family philanthropy and facilitated meetings.

Host – Sage Walker

The two-time Olympian for Team Canada grew up on her family’s cattle ranch in southern Alberta, where her strong work ethic and determination were shaped from a young age.
