Winds of 130 km/h expected

UPDATED: Wind Warning for Lethbridge and southwest Alberta

Wind gusts of up to 130 km/h are expected in Lethbridge and throughout southwest Alberta today.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), wind gusts will be up to 90 km/h farther east in the Medicine Hat area. Meteorologists say west winds have strengthened but will diminish by early Friday morning.

Officials say driving conditions will likely be difficult.

Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible, so secure loose objects.

Motorists are advised to be prepared to adapt your driving for changing conditions.
