Coalhurst unveils new town website

Mar 12, 2026 | 3:26 PM

The Town of Coalhurst has launched a new municipal website designed to make it easier for residents and businesses to find information and connect with the community online.

The redesigned site aims to reflect the town’s brand with a modern look, a new navigation system and a structure built around how residents search for information.

Mayor Deb Florence says the website reflects the type of community Coalhurst is.

She says the platform will help residents find information more easily, stay informed and engage with the town, noting that clear communication and access to information are essential to public accountability.

New features include a community events calendar and submission tool, report-a-problem forms for operations and bylaw concerns, updated contact forms for staff and council, email subscriptions for alerts and notices, and a searchable business directory.

The launch follows a multi-year effort to modernize the town’s digital presence.

According to the town, council first directed staff in 2022 to develop a more user-friendly website.

In late 2024, council approved funding for a combined branding and website redevelopment project.

Chief Administrative Officer Karlene Betteridge says a municipal website often serves as the front door to a community, and the new platform is designed to better represent Coalhurst and improve communication with residents.

The town says the new site reflects community pride while providing clearer and more accessible communication.

Residents are encouraged to explore the new website at coalhurst.ca.
