The Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre has officially launched its new Go Friendly Shuttle to provide door-to-door transportation for seniors.

The program was launched on Friday, March 13, with a new 2025 Ford Transit passenger van added to support shuttle services. The service allows seniors to attend programs, services, and social activities at the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre and the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization.

According to Nord-Bridge, the Go Friendly Shuttle program is funded through Family and Community Support Services, provided by the City of Lethbridge through the Community Social Development Committee. The program aims to reduce barriers and social isolation by connecting seniors, providing more than 7,500 one-way trips annually in Lethbridge.

“Reliable transportation is essential for seniors to remain connected to their community,” said David Ng, executive director of Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre.

The centre says funding for the shuttle was made possible through partnerships. The provincial government contributed $38,500, while the City of Lethbridge provided $50,000 through the Make Your Mark one-time grant funding opportunity. Additional donations came from centre members and other supporters.
