Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL) held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday (Mar. 18) night at the Coast Hotel and Conference Centre.

The meeting aimed to highlight the organization’s work over the past year, including major projects completed in 2025 and a preview of goals for the year ahead.

Outgoing Board Chair Charlene Scheffelmair praised the organization’s progress, pointing to initiatives such as the region’s first Quantum Super Hub and several economic studies supporting local growth.

The event also marked a transition in leadership, with Ed Limon stepping in as the new Board Chair and President.

He says key priorities in the coming year will include the search for a new CEO, collaboration with the City of Lethbridge on economic strategy, and setting organizational performance goals.

Several new members were also welcomed to the Board of Directors, representing sectors ranging from agriculture and education to environment and multicultural services.

The AGM featured a presentation of audited financial statements, updates across EDL’s core focus areas, and a guest presentation from Chris Perry, who spoke on agriculture, renewable energy, and insights from the World Economic Forum.
