Lethbridge Police have charged two males with first degree murder in connection with the death of a 27-year-old man.

On March 27 around 6:30 a.m., police and EMS responded to a report of an assault at an apartment complex along the 200 block of 7 A Avenue South. Upon arrival, LPS says an unresponsive male was located inside one of the units and later pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as a 27-year-old Lethbridge man.

The investigation, being treated as a homicide, was assumed by members of the Criminal Investigation Section.

On March 28, LPS says two male subjects were arrested without incident and subsequently charged.

Police say they have evidence indicating this was a targeted incident between parties known to one another.

Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43, and Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27, both of Lethbridge, are each charged with one count of first degree murder. LPS says both subjects are remanded in custody.

Officials say Medicine Crane is scheduled to appear in court March 30, while North Peigan is scheduled to appear in court April 7.

According to LPS, the investigation is ongoing and further charges have not been ruled out.

They add, however, that no further details or information will be released.
