LSCO launches “Support Our Seniors” (SOS) Campaign

The Lethbridge Seniors Citizens Organization has launched a fundraising campaign to help recover from years of operating deficits.

The SOS: Support Our Seniors Campaign aims to raise $75,000 to rebuild financial stability and ensure continued access to essential programs, meals, and social connections.

Over the past year, LSCO has worked to modernize its operations but continues to face challenges from rising costs, reduced gaming and grant revenues, and lingering post-pandemic impacts.

“LSCO is one of the backbones of senior support in our community,” said Executive Director Kaitlynn Weaver. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made—growing membership and donations, improving systems, and strengthening connections. But to stay strong for future generations, we need the community’s help. Every meal served, class offered, or ride provided exists because of people who care.”

The campaign will also implement strategies to improve long-term sustainability by reducing costs and refocusing on LSCO’s core mission and programs.

“Yes, we’re asking for community support, but this campaign is about growth, not survival,” added Weaver. “With strong leadership, operational efficiency, and thoughtful planning, we’re positioning LSCO for lasting strength and even greater impact in the years ahead.”

The SOS campaign is inviting individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute by donating online at www.lethseniors.com/fundraising or in person at the LSCO, 500 11th Street South, Lethbridge, AB.
