Seedy Saturday returns to Lethbridge

Apr 7, 2026 | 3:51 PM

An annual gardening event featuring workshops, exhibitors and a seed swap is set to return to Lethbridge on Saturday, April 11.

Seedy Saturday is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. in the north wing of the downtown branch of the Lethbridge Public Library (800-5 St S).

Organizers say the free event will include a seed swap, compost giveaway, workshops and exhibits focused on gardening and local produce.

Environment Lethbridge says more than 20 local businesses and community organizations are expected to take part, sharing ideas on topics such as gardening, pollinators and food production.

Some exhibitors will also offer seeds, plants and related items for sale.

According to organizers, attendees can bring seeds to trade or take seeds home to try.

A free compost station will also be available in the Civic Ice Centre parking lot, with material provided by the City of Lethbridge’s waste and environment department.

Visitors are being asked to bring their own containers.

Organizers say Seedy Saturday events are held in communities across Canada and are intended to give people interested in environmentally friendly gardening practices an opportunity to learn and share ideas.
