"No Parking" signs to go up

Spring street sweeping underway in Lethbridge

Apr 10, 2026 | 2:29 PM

The City of Lethbridge says residential street sweeping will begin Monday (Apr. 13) and continue on weekdays for the next eight to 12 weeks, depending on weather.

Officials say signs will be posted in neighbourhoods ahead of sweeping, with “no parking” notices going up about 24 hours in advance.

Vehicles left on signed streets may be ticketed.

Street sweepers are set to move through each neighbourhood to remove debris and collect sand used during winter.

“We are looking forward to our annual spring street sweeping program as it promotes a sense of cleanliness and pride in the community,” said Transportation Operations Manager Juliane Ruck.

Residents are being asked to move vehicles off streets before 7:30 a.m., with parking allowed again after 4 p.m. daily. Vehicles must be moved again the next morning if signs remain in place.

The city says it will not return to areas blocked by parked vehicles.

Residents can sign up for notifications through the Lethbridge Loop app or check schedules online.
