Lethbridge firefighters’ union hosts CPR training amid EMS system debate
More than 200 people gathered on Sunday (Apr. 12) for a free CPR training session and community barbecue hosted by Lethbridge firefighters, as union members called on the province of Alberta to maintain the city’s integrated emergency response system.
The event, organized by Lethbridge Firefighters IAFF Local 237, took place outside the constituency office of Lethbridge-East MLA and Minister Nathan Neudorf.
Organizers say participants learned hands-only CPR and heard from firefighters and paramedics about the importance of rapid emergency response.
“This is life and death,” said Brent Nunweiler, President of IAFF Local 237.
