Town of Picture Butte celebrates 100th anniversary with plaque unveiling April 15
Picture Butte is turning 100 years old.
Wednesday, April 15, marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Picture Butte Post Office and the founding of the community.
To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone, the Town of Picture Butte is holding a commemorative plaque unveiling the same day in front of the post office, south of the town office.
Picture Butte was founded thanks in part to the establishment of the Lethbridge Northern Irrigation District System in 1923 and the construction of the railroad in 1925.
