Lethbridge Regional Water Services Commission celebrates 25th anniversary
The Lethbridge Regional Water Services Commission is marking 25 years.
Since 2001, the commission has distributed safe water to thousands of users from Lethbridge County and the Town of Coaldale, purchased by the commission from the City of Lethbridge.
The water is distributed through regional pipelines, like the recently established Eastern Industrial Transmission Pipeline that services the county’s McCain potato facility.
“The Commission is a shining example of how regional collaboration benefits us all,” said John Kuerbis, Chair of the Lethbridge Regional Water Services Commission and Lethbridge County Deputy Reeve. “Water is a shared resource, and by collaborating with our neighbours, we can best serve our residents and businesses to ensure a safe, reliable water supply. That reliability is also essential to economic growth, especially for agri-food processing and other major employers that contribute significantly to our regional economy.”
