Blowing Snow Advisory for areas north and east of Lethbridge

Apr 24, 2026 | 11:54 AM

A Blowing Snow Advisory remains in place for areas north and east of Lethbridge.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), poor visibility in snow and blowing snow will continue to create challenging travel conditions Friday evening.

Officials say visibility may be suddenly reduced in heavier snow bands and blowing snow, and rapid accumulation on roads is possible.

Gusty winds may also make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Conditions are expected to improve early this evening as winds gradually diminish.

Travel, however, will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility and road closures are possible.

ECCC says to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance.
