Key steal of three leads Canada over Germany 7-4 at mixed doubles worlds
GENEVA — A steal of three points in the third end led Canada’s Kadriana and Colton Lott to a 7-4 win over Germany on Wednesday at the world mixed doubles curling championship.
Germany’s Kim Sutor and Sixten Totzek opened with the hammer and scored two in the first end.
After the Lotts managed just one point in the second, the husband-and-wife duo from Gimli, Man., broke the game open in the third when they drew for three behind cover, and the Germans missed on their final shot.
“That definitely gave us control of the game,” Colton Lott said. “Once we had the lead, we never let go. It was a great way to start strong.”
