New RCMP detachment commander in Coaldale/Picture Butte

A new detachment commander is now in place at the RCMP operation in Coaldale/Picture Butte.

A 27-year veteran, Staff Sergeant Malcolm Callihoo has served in different roles around our province, including postings in First Nation and rural northern communities.

In welcoming the new lead, Town of Coaldale mayor Jack Van Rijn says the community places a high value of strong, collaborative relationships with its policing partners.

Sgt. Callihoo says he, too, values the relationships that define community policing and is looking forward to getting to know local residents and organizations.
