‘Community Champion’ to receive honorary U of L degree

Labelled as a “community champion’, the University of Lethbridge is awarding community booster Knud Petersen with an honorary degree.

In making the announcement, the university’s chancellor Terry Whitehead called the longtime fundraiser and volunteer ‘truly one-of-a-kind.’

Whitehead continued by saying that Petersen’s commitment to Pronghorn Athletics, fine arts, and the university itself has touched every corner of campus.

Petersen will be bestowed with an honorary Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, at U of L’s Spring 2026 Convocation May 29th.
