Wanted: volunteers for July’s Southern Alberta Summer Games

May 20, 2026 | 9:45 AM

Last Wednesday was the start of athlete registration for the upcoming Southern Alberta Summer Games in the County of Forty Mile.

Organizers, however, would like you to know they are still looking for a few more volunteers to help the make the four-day event in July a rousing success.

Games director Kaylee Hurt points out there’s no experience required.

“Doesn’t matter your age. Doesn’t matter your capability,” Hurt explains.

“We will have an area for everyone, whether that’s handing out medals to holding a high jump stick to helping time runs. There’s something for everyone. It’s a great way to meet the community. It’s a great way to get involved and it’s a great way to make memories together.”

The games go July 8th to the 11th.
