Huitema, Zadorsky return as Canadian women’s soccer team heads to Costa Rica
Canada’s women’s soccer team will have some big names back from injury for a training camp in Costa Rica next week.
Chicago Red Stars forward Jordyn Huitema and defenders Shelina Zadorsky of West Ham United and Gabrielle Carle of Washington Spirit are all on the 26-player roster released Wednesday by head coach Casey Stoney.
All three players were out with various ailments in April when the ninth-ranked Canadians played a trio of FIFA Series games in Brazil.
The roster for the Costa Rica camp also includes newcomer Élisabeth Tsé, a defender for the Washington Spirit, and Tampa Bay Sun midfielder Jordyn Listro, who’s back with the team for the first time since June 2021.
