Canadians Auger-Aliassime, Mboko move on to third round at French Open
PARIS — Canadian tennis stars Félix Auger-Aliassime and Victoria Mboko each came back from a set down to win their second-round matches Thursday at the French Open.
Auger-Aliassime, the men’s fourth seed posted a 4-6, 6-0, 7-5, 6-1 win over Argentina’s Roman Andres Burruchaga.
Ninth-seed Mboko followed with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 win over Czech veteran Katerina Siniakova in women’s action.
Auger-Aliassime broke Burruchaga seven times on 10 chances and was dominant on serve, converting 85 per cent of first serve points and firing seven aces.
