Permits still required for yard waste, burn pits
Lethbridge County drops fire ban with rain and cooler temperatures

Rain and cooler temperatures over the weekend and into Monday has prompted Lethbridge County to lift an earlier imposed fire ban, effective immediately.
But, while restrictions have been lifted, the County is quick to point out that there are still rules in place, including permits for burning of yard waste and burn pits, as well as fireworks.
Recreational campfires in approved fire pits, burn barrels, charcoal briquette barbecues, gas or propane heaters, stoves, barbecues and fire rings, and wood pellet grills, which don’t require a permit, are, once again, allowed.
The County tempers that by saying a shift to warmer temperatures and/or windy conditions could see the ban returned.
