A welcome addition, U of L’s ‘The Grove’ begins to change landscape of campus

An idea that started with a grant application is now finally taking shape on campus at the University of Lethbridge.

The Grove, as it will be known, will be an oasis, of sorts, for students wanting to get away from the rigors of school, if only for a few minutes.

Mark Slomp,the Executive Director of Student Services, says the concept began about two years ago.

“We started with lots of consulation with our campus community on what they would like to see in an outdoor space designed to contribute to social connection and, ultimately, flourishing,” Slomp recalls.
