Heavy rain leads to City of Lethbridge decision to lift fire ban for River Valley

Jun 3, 2026 | 9:00 AM

Close to three days of constant rain has certainly helped with the region’s fire danger.

As a result, Fire & Emergency Services for the City of Lethbridge has decided to lift a fire ban it had in place for the entire River Valley.

Recreational campfires in approved fire pits, burn barrels, and gas or propane heaters, stoves, barbecues and fire rings, are among the things now allowed with the restrictions rescinded.

That follows Monday’s decision by Lethbridge County to do the same.
