Toros hit the road for six games in six days

Sylvan Lake wins Sunday matinee at Spitz Stadium; breaks Bulls’ unbeaten streak

The Sylvan Lake Gulls managed to snap a three-game losing skid Sunday afternoon, but in the process ended the Lethbridge Bulls’ four-game win streak.

Scoring nine runs in the top of the 3rd, the Gulls would go on to beat the Toros 16-0, in game that would see the home side commit five errors.

Sylvan Lake’s three runs in the top of the 8th also resulted in the game being called early, based on a new league rule of a 15-run difference in the 8th inning.

Lethbridge will have a chance at revenge when the two teams meet, again, Tuesday night in central Alberta, before the Bulls head further north for a four-game showdown (Wednesday-Saturday) in Fort McMurray against the Giants.

They’ll make a stop in Edmonton Sunday to play Energy City before hosting the Okotoks Dawgs back home at Spitz Stadium Tuesday, June 16th.

Even with the loss, the Bulls remain in first in the WCBL’s West Division with a record of 6-2, after Fort McMurray went into Okotoks and took both games against the Dawgs Saturday and Sunday.
