Residents’ group in Coaldale against rezoning of proposed development

Opposition for an eight-unit apartment complex in one Coaldale neighbourhood seems to be gaining traction.

A group calling itself Coaldale’s Our Community says, If approved, the development would completely change the character of the subdivision.

It says an application to Town Council is asking for a zoning change from Single Family Residential to Direct Control.

In a statement, COC spokesperson Adam Parker said residents are taking the time to write letters because they care about preserving the character of Coaldale and ensuring growth is planned responsibly.
