City Council approves new economic development strategy to help steer clear direction

With input from several community agencies and organizations, Lethbridge City Council has given the ‘thumbs up’ to a new Economic Development Strategy. 

In approving the document, Mayor Blaine Hyggen said Council was committed to growing the local economy and the strategy would help guide their decisions. 

Our motto is Gateway to Opportunity, he continued, and the hub for agri-business, advanced manufacturing, higher education, and logistics in southern Alberta. 

Recently appointed Investment and Growth Officer, Bridget Mearns agreed, calling Lethbridge a vibrant, opportunity-rich community with strong regional leadership.
