Over 85 vendors expected on first day

Opening day for 2026 Lethbridge Farmers’ Market season is this Saturday

The Lethbridge Farmers Market makes it return this weekend to the UFA Hall on the city’s trade and convention centre grounds.

While the first few markets of the year are pretty quiet for displays, Paul Kingsmith with Excite Lethbridge says, not so, this year.

“Anyone who comes to the market knows it really picks up steam in the middle of the year, once the crops are coming off the fields, and we get all the colonies in as the season goes on,” Kingsmith said during a media gathering Wednesday.

“(But) this season, right off the ‘get go’ we have over 85 vendors here on weekend number one. That’s higher than we’ve had in a number of years.”

Kingsmith says this Saturday will have added features including a Kids Zone, complete with a bouncy castle and face painting, and a Seniors Corner.

Except for the week of, and week before Whoop-Up Days, the market goes every Saturday through October, adding Wednesdays in July and August.
