A Lethbridge family is turning a tragic event that took place four years ago, into a positive, in memory of their daughter.

Bekah Olsen and her husband, Jim, lost their daughter, Annie, in her sleep, at just three-and-a-half months old.

Next Friday, June 19th, the family is holding an event they’re billing Celebration for Annie at the Nikka Yuko Gardens just off Mayor McGrath Drive.

In making the announcement Friday morning, mom, Bekah, feels it’s the one of the best ways to honour her daughter’s memory.

“That’s why we keep doing this. That’s why every year we throw her a birthday party,” she said tearfully.

“And we invite the community. We invited our friends. We invite our family. for family. We invited our family. We invite our friends. We invite people we don’t even know to come and to celebrate our beautiful baby with an opportunity to give back to the community.”

Bekah says Annie would be four on June 20th, but the family decided to hold the event the evening before on the 19th this year.

A Celebration for Annie will be held Friday, June 20th between 5 and 7 p.m. and will include the release of 100 balloons at 7 p.m., in memory of their daughter.
