Taber golf tournament raises over 54K towards stationary hospital vital signs monitors

Close to 100 duffers turned out yesterday for the Kiwanis Club of Taber’s Charity Golf Tournament for the Taber and District Health Foundation.

The foundation’s fundraising director, Aline Holmen, says the over-$54,000 raised this year is aleady earmarked for one particular project.

“So, currently, we use a portable vital signs monitor in the hospital. You’re always looking for them. They need to be disinfected from patient to patient,” Holmen explains.

“This way, every room, every patient will have their own monitor. Better for the staff. Better for the patient. Better for cleaning. Eliminates the risk of disease transmission. So, it’s a wonderful thing.”
