Jun 15, 2026 | 1:57 PM

Renovations at the Taber Health Centre are underway with planned upgrades to the hospital’s two operating rooms and surgical services areas.

According to Alberta Health Services, work was scheduled to begin Monday (June 15) but would not affect delivery of service or any of the day-to-day operations.

Temporary barriers, though, are being put in place for safety,

AHS adds that temporary structures near the ambulance bay exit, including a construction trailer and storage container, will also be set up during the course of construction.

The $7.2 million project will improve efficiency, modernize the look and functionality of the surgical service areas, and enhance rural operative services, said a release by AHS.

Improvements include new equipment booms, surgical lighting, and wall protection, with work expected to be completed by September of next year.
